Dugga 3 - Anti-ulcer agents Flashcards
1
Q
What is the name of the swedish produced Proton pump inhibitor (PPI)?
A
Omeprazole
2
Q
What is the canaliculus?
A
In the PP where the ionchannels is in contact with the lumen of the stomach. The canaliculi is sheltered channel-7inlet that flows into the overall ocean if the stomach lumen. It is via this channel that HCl are transported from the proton pump into the stomach.
3
Q
How are the protons needed for HCl generated?
A
Protons are generated via carbonic anhydrase
4
Q
Why is PPIs good?
A
It inhibits the proton pumpaction, this is benifical since you don’t have to target/inhibit all three types of receptors on the pump
5
Q
Energy needed for the pump comes from?
A
Hydrolysis of ATP
