  • stop before the indicator if possible and inform the LUL controller
  • if unable to stop before hand, stop when possible and contact the controller.
    You will be advised to proceed at caution to next station, giving regular short blasts of the horn.

What does a category A platform mean?

A
  • driver unable to see whole of PTI from the cab without the use of mirrors or monitors
  • must inform LU controller if the mirror/monitors become defective and get assistance with dispatch

What does a category B platform mean?

A
  • driver can see whole PTI by looking back from the cab
  • if the mirrors/monitors become defective you must inform station staff or Hammersmith controller.

What is the dispatch procedure for a B platform with defective mirrors/monitors?

A
  • check station starting signal is clear
  • check customers are clear of operational doors
  • close doors and check they are closed safely
  • check PTI again
  • check signal again and then PTI again
  • start your train
