A condition that occurs when there’s a SERIOUS DISTURBANCE that comes on QUICKLY. It is a marked shift in someone’s awareness process, frequently seen in a hospital setting or with someone taking drugs or medications due to cause of biochemical change, memory impairment, executive functioning impairment, language impairment, hallucinations, delusions, and rapid onset
Symptoms last ONLY a few hours to a day
Delirium
A disorder with a CONTINUUM, happens to those who suffer from dementia, has serious issues with attention, language, memory, cognition, executive functioning, challenges with perceptual-motor skills, require modification, often seen in nursing home or living facility, and CAN’T FUNCTION INDEPENDENTLY
Major Neurocognitive Disorder
A disorder that is a PRE-CURSOR to major neurocognitive disorder. They have a noticeable decline BUT still able to maintain independence, can show being more forgetful and may need SOME SUPPORT
Mild Neurocognitive Disorder
A disorder when a client has a HEALTH-RELATED ISSUE such as PAIN OR ILLNESS, has severe health-related anxiety, and persistent concern of medical seriousness of health concern
Somatic Symptom Disorder
A disorder when a person RARELY has somatic symptoms, if they do it is mild. They have an INTENSE FEAR they have some sort of serious disease DESPITE a doctor’s thoughts (typically a Hypochondriac)
Illness Anxiety Disorder
A disorder when psychological issues CONVERT into a somatic one. Such as “blind rage” or someone who is upset and traumatized and end up losing an arm or limb, and paralyzed by trauma
Conversion Disorder
A disorder where a person really likes the ATTENTION OF BEING SICK. They act like they are sick to go to the doctor and get attention, or parent takes a child to the doctor for attention

Factitious Disorder
This is when someone FAKES AN ILLNESS to get out of something (ex. claiming mental illness to collect disability)
Malingering
A disorder when a person makes SOMEONE ELSE APPEAR SICK. This can be a parent who continually takes a child to the doctor or when a parent gives a child a substance that makes the child sick

Factitious Disorder by Proxy
A disorder when a person RESTRICTS DIET INTAKE to the point it doesn’t meet physical needs. They are less than minimally normal for their weight, intense fear of gaining weight, distorted body image, and excessively exercises. SW needs to coordinate with a medical doctor as they often need higher level of care
Anorexia Nervosa
A disorder when a person must have both have binge eating and re-occurrent purging behaviors, will use laxatives to get rid of excess food, excessive exercise, feel sense of out of control and eat lots of food, and compulsive feeling
Bulimia Nervosa
A disorder when a person only engages in binge eating and not purging, eat massive quantities of food, and has feeling of disgust
Binge Eating Disorder
This disorder is when someone does not meet criteria of bulimia and anorexia nervosa, can have purging without binging, and someone with normal weight but obsession or anxiety about their body image
Unspecified Eating Disorder
Cannot be about weight, distinct displeasure with a body part, and gets excessive plastic surgery
Body Dysmorphic Disorder
A disorder when a person experiences reality and they are present, but report feeling outside of their body and feel like in a dream like state and the world feels surreal
Depersonalization / Derealization Disorder
