Schizophrenia

FIVE and SIX

A

A. At least two symptoms for more than six months of the following, with at least 1 symptom from those marked :
Behaviour - catatonic and disorganised
Delusions

Speech - frequent derailment/incoherence**
Hallucinations**
Negative symptoms (diminished emotional expression and avolition)
B. Persisted for more than six months
C. Functional impairment
D. Not due to effects of a substance.
E. Schizoaffective/bipolar/depressive episode ruled out
F. If ASD/communication disorder has been diagnosed, only diagnose schizophrenia if delusions or hallucinations are present.

Depression

FIVE and TWO

A
A. At least five symptoms for more than two weeks, one of which must be depressed mood, and is a change from usual functioning:
Depressed mood
Anhedonia
Weight gain or loss, change in appetite
Sleep issues - insomnia, hypersomnia
Psychomotor agitation
Fatigue
Guilt and feelings of worthlessness
Concentration difficulties
Thoughts about death
B. Change from usual functioning
C. Not attributable to a substance
D. Not accompanied by mania
E. Not explainable by another diagnosis

Panic Disorder

FOUR and FOUR

A

A. Recurrent, unexpected panic attacks, including four or more of the physical symptoms of panic (trembling, sweating etc - parathesias (numbness), derealisation, fear of dying etc.)
B. One month or more of worry about panic attacks and associated change in behaviour.
C. Not attributable to the physiological effects of a substance.
D. Not better explained by something else.

Alcohol Use Disorder

TWO and TWELVE

A

A. Problematic pattern of alcohol use leading to clinically significant impairment/distress, manifesting in at least two of the following within a 12 month period: (People Mostly Gulp Flagons of Wine C C T T T)

Problems socially/interpersonally/physically
More - drinking in greater volumes for more time
Giving up important social/occupational/recreational activities
Failure to fulfil obligations at work/home/school
Withdrawal

Continuing despite problems
Craving

Tolerance
Trying to cut down but can’t
Time spent obtaining, thinking about and recovering from alcohol

Specify if in early or sustained remission.
