Metronidazole for vaginosis
400mg orally, twice a day for 1 week.
OR
one single oral dose of 2g.
alternatively intravaginal Tinidazole.
For fixed drug eruptions
1mg.kg oral prednisolone tapered over 2 weeks
For acute urticaria
loratadine or certrizine, or 1st gen sedating antihistamine for pruritus.
For exanthemous drug eruptions
oral or iv glucocorticoids, 50-200mg prednisone plus oral antihistamine.
For Pemphigus vulgaris
High dose corticosteroids, 2-3 mg/kg Prednisone, until blister formation stops and nikolsky sign is neg.
For seborrheic dermatitis
1% hydrocortisone cream with topical antifungal cream. Miconazole
Ketoconazole shampoo
Tacrolimus cream for more severe cases.
1st line drugs for mild acne
Anti-comedones:
Tazarotene and Adaplene gels. 3rd gen retinoids, to prevent comedones.
Tretinoin gel - 1st gen.
They should all be given in tapered doses though, gradually increasing concentration to find right dose.
Benzoyl peroxide, exfoliant
Antibacterial:
Oral tetracycline
Oral minocycline
Antisebum:
Antiandrogens, spironolactone.
moderate acne
topical adaplene or tazarotene
Oral minocycline
Oral estrogen in females
Sever acne
Oral isotretinoin, plus the topical adaplene or tazarotene.
Oral minocylcine.
