Salicylic acid gel - exfoliant and clears comedones

Azelaic acid gel - anti P acnes, and anti-inflammatory

Topical retinoids, Tretinoin, Adaplene

Topical antibiotics:
Clindamycin and Erythromycin, bacteriostatic 50S inhibitors, macrolides.

Oral antibiotics:
Minocycline, Doxycycline. Bacteriostatic 30S inhibitors.

Antiandrogens
Spironolactone
Cyproterone acetate

Treatment of severe acne

Answer 3

All of the above regimines, plus

Oral Isotretinoin
Retinoids are anti comedolytic and anti inflammatory, and 1st gens also inhibit sebum production.

Contrad in pregnancy, severely teratogenic.
Significant dry skin and skin peeling side effects.
Photosensitivity neccesitates sunscreen.
Risk for suicide attempts.
