Acetylcysteine
Aka: Mucomyst
Use: acetaminophen overdoses
Smells like rotten eggs.
Atropine
Use: symptomatic bradycardia
Contraindicated in acute hemorrhage
Caution in renal/hepatic disease
Calcium gluconate
Given for hypocalcemia
Should be considered with multiple transfusions of blood
Risk for toxicity, monitor labs
tPA
For use with ischemic stroke
Specific window of time for admin., within 3-4.5 hours of onset of symptoms
Contraindicated with blood thinners
Sildenafil
Viagra
Used for pulm HTN and erectile dysfunction
Do NOT administer NTG within 24 hours of use
Dobutamine

Inatropic med in cardiac muscle failure
May cause severe changes in BP (high or low)

Used for hypotension in presence of shock
Do NOT use in patients with uncorrected tachyarrhythmias or VFib

Used in anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest
Can be used for hypotension, not a first line choice

Prevents seizures
Used with asthma and migraines as well

Contraindicated in G6PD deficiency

Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease

Reversal of CNS anticholinergic syndrome
Patient must have normal QRS interval determined by EKG in order to receive this drug
