Herion, Cocaine, Crack, LSD, ecstacy, magic mushrooms, speed
What are some examples of Class B drugs?
Cannabis, Amphetamines, Codedine, Ketamine
What are some examples of Class C drugs?
Steriods, GHB, Tranquillisers
What is meant by possession of a controlled drug?
It is an offence for a person to have a controlled drug in their possession.
What is the max time in prison for possession of Class A, B, and C drugs?
A - 7 years
B - 5 years
C - 2 years
What points do you have to prove for someone to be in possession of drugs?
- Physical possession
- Knowledge of the possession (doesn’t need to know what drug)
- No authority for possession
What is meant by the offence possession with intent to supply?
A person has a controlled drug in their possession, whether lawfully or not, with intent to supply to another.
How could you prove someone has intent to supply?
Scales, baggies, cash, mobile phones - texts, whatsapp
What type of offence is possession with intent to supply?
Either-way indictable offence,
Class A - life
Class B + C - 14 years
What is meant by the offence supplying a controlled drug?
If a person supplies, offers to supply, be concerned to supply, be concerned in making an offer to supply
When someone gives a person drugs to safe keep, is that the offence supplying a controlled drug?

The offence is complete at the point the offer is made -> does not need to be a controlled drug (fake pills), do not need to be in possession of the drug, do not even need to intend to carry out the offer
What is meant by the offence supplying articles for administering or preparing controlled drugs?
e.g. A person buys drugs kits. Summary offence, 6 months
