Beta Blockers
=slow the heart down- blocks hormone actions e.g. adrenaline. Beta blockers cause the heart to beat more slowly and with less force, which lowers blood pressure. Beta blockers also help widen veins and arteries to improve blood flow
side effects: Cold hands or feet, Fatigue, Weight gain
ACE inhibitors
medications that help relax the veins and arteries to lower blood pressure. ACE inhibitors prevent an enzyme in the body from producing angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. This narrowing can cause high blood pressure and forces the heart to work harder. Angiotensin II also releases hormones that raise blood pressure.
useful for:
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Coronary artery disease
Heart failure
Diabetes
Certain chronic kidney diseases
Heart attacks
A disease that involves hardening of the skin and connective tissues (scleroderma)
Migraines
side effects:

Fatigue
Dizziness from blood pressure going too low
Headaches
Loss of taste
