How do bzs work

A

Bzs combine with gaba a repectors that Gaba combines which leaves the channels open for chloride ions to enter neuron which causes the nuerons to be more responsive to Gaba and less responsive to other neurotransmitters slowing down neural activity which reduces anxiety

What do beta blockers aim to do

A

work to limit effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline on produced in sam pathway

How do beta blockers work

A

They block the beta andrenergic receptors which Adrenaline and nor aderenaline usually combine with to cause increase heart rate. This reduces anxiety while not altering conciousness as they dont operate in the brain.
