Anaphylaxis
Decreased blood pressure, shock, edema of face and hands, cyanosis, choking cough (laryngeal edema) and violent asthma, weak pulse
Urticaria (wheals) or rash
wheals are edematous pinkish elevations that itch and sting, may occur on any part of body, Rash may be pink to red, raised or flat. Progression to anaphylaxis
Atropine-Like Side Effects
Dryness of mouth and nose, flushing and dryness of skin, tachycardia, urinary retention, blurring of vision, constipation.
Liver Damage
Elevated liver function tests (ALT, AST, GGT) Jaundice, especially in sclera of eyes: hemorrhages under skin; dark urine
Kidney Damage
Increased BUN/creatine. Anuria, oliguria, hematuria, crystalluria,albuminuria: indications of fluid and electrolyte imbalance
Arrhythmias
Any change in rate, rhythm, volume, or character of pulse. EKG changes
Hypotension
Decrease in blood pressure, dizziness, syncope, shock
Hypertension
Elevated blood pressure, epistasis, emotional irritability, headache, visual disturbances, dizziness. Symptoms of end organ damage. Damage to: Heart Brain Kindeys and Eyes
Aplastic Anemia
Decreased RBCs, WBCs, and platelets. Pallor, weakness, dyspnea, anorexia, fever, headache, bleeding from mucous membranes
Thombocytopenia
Purpura, petechiae, melena, epistaxis, hematuria, symptoms of internal bleeding. Decreased platelets.
Agranulocytosis, leukopenia
Chills, fever, sore throat, cough, malaise, lesions of mouth. Decrease in WBC
Anemia
Pallor, weakness, decreased H&H
Extrapyramidal Effects
abnormal involuntary movements, tremor, athetosis, chorea, dystonia. Alterations in muscle tone. Difficulty in preserving equilibrium in erect and sitting position
Stimulation of CNS
Anxiety, nervousness, insomnia
Depression of CNS
Dizziness, vertigo, drowsinessm decrease in pulse or respiration, decreasing level consciousness.
