Adrenaline (anaphylaxis)
A

A
- >12 years - 25mg IMI or slow IV
- 6-12 - 12.5mg IMI or slow IV
- 2-6 years - 6.25mg IMI or slow IV

A
- Rabies Ig 20IU/kg into the wound, remainder IM
- Rabies vaccine on days 0, 3, 7, 14, (and 28 if immunocompromised)

- Indications
- Contamination
- Devitalised tissue
- > 6 hour since injury
- Bite/ puncture
- Tetanus toxoid (Td or Tdap) if vaccination incomplete (10 years since booster
- Tetanus Ig 250-500IU

Adrenaline (cardiorespiratory arrest)
A
- 1mg in 9ml N/S
- 20ml N/S flush
- Adminster after 2nd shock and every 2-3 minutes therafter as necessary
- 0.1-0.5μ/kg/min infusion as cardiac support after CPR
Pediatric dose: 0.01mg/kg

Amiodarone (cardiorespiratory arrest)
A
NB - ONLY if PEA or asystole
- 300mg in 20ml 5% D/W
- Administer after adrenaline (after 3rd shock)
- Additional 150mg after 2-3 minutes if necessary
- 1mg/min infusion for 6 hours thereafter
- 0.5mg/min infusion for 18 hours thereafter

Give in place of amiodarone
- First dose: 1mg/kg
- Second dose: 0.5mg/kg

Magnesium Sulphate
A
- 1-2g in 10ml 5% D/W
- For Torsades de Point or hypomagnesaemia

- 0.5mg IVI
- Repeat every 3-5 minutes PRN
- Max 3mg
- Presentation: 1mg/ml or 0.5mg/ml
