Q

Give an account of plasma protein binding in relation to drug distribution.

A
Some drugs bind to proteins in the plasma such as albumin or phenytoin.
Only unbound drugs are active.
Binding is reversible.
Amount of bound drug can be changed by:
-Renal failure
-Hypoalbuminaemia
-Other drugs
-Pregnancy
