Q

why isn’t smoking forbidden in any religions?

A

There is no specific teaching that states ‘do not smoke’ but because it can be harmful religious people recognise that. Buddhists accept it because it doesn’t alter the mind significantly. Muslims see smoking in public as antisocial and try to give up smoking during the month of Ramadam. Christians may disagree with smoking because of the teaching that ‘your body is the temple of God’ and therefore it should not be harmed. But it is up to the individual to make sense of it.
