How do you stop the train at the right spot on the platform?
Stopping Aid Cameras
Align the platform stopping mark between the two red lines. Ideally in the green line
How do you use the Stopping Aid Cameras in a Siding to assist you?
Train has to be in yard mode in the set speed switch then manually activate the SDU screen
What happens if Balise Beacon fails?
The camera won’t operate automatically
Why might the Stopping Aid Camera fail?
TDN stopping conditions entered incorrectly
Manually operate it
What does the SDU do when a train stops at station and doors are released?
Switches from stopping aid camera to body side cameras
When does the SDU go blank?
20 metres after the whole of the train has cleared the platform
When else would you use body side cameras?
Any time while in motion
To view whether train has cleared points, curves, signals
What is the Dynamic Tab?
At the bottom left side of SDU
Drifts from side to side indicating the video is not frozen
What happens when there is more than one PI call?
They queue
Passengers get auto message
Once driver finishes first call alert sounds and PI button will flash for next call
How long until a PI call is escalated to Metrol?
30 seconds
Where are the DERS?
Every door has internal and external DER
What indication does driver get when DER is pulled?
SDU displays image of affected saloon
Car will illuminate RED with Emergency Egress Device (EED) icon
How are level one alarms indicated?
Audible high-low tone
Flashing red bar
Affected car on pictographs will highlight and flash
How are level 2 alarms indicated?
Audible high-low tone
Flashing yellow bar
How are level 3 alarms indicated?
Yellow bar remains steady
