What is a Prior Activity Code (PAC) file
A computerized text file stored in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and linked to a specific geographical address.
What is a Prior Activity Code (PAC) file used to document?
A variety of officer safety issues and significant service delivery issues, such as gate access codes, private property authorization letters, Community Assisted Party Program (CAPP) houses, and Tarasoff warnings.
Who can read Prior Activity Code (PAC) files?
Department members, management
and system administrators, and could be subject to subpoena.
How are Prior Activity Code (PAC) files submitted?
Direct Entry Using the Premise Entry (PE) Command or the the Miscellaneous (M) Command.
When does a Prior Activity Code (PAC) file expire?
7 days. but you can route a message to LD01 to extend the file duration.
What is the maximum number of days that a Prior Activity Code (PAC) file is available for review in the CAD system?
998 days, but can be renewed for 998 days indefinately.
How long are Prior Activity Code (PAC) files retained in the CAD system
Until they are deleted by Information Services
staff.
