A

Babies sleep 16 hours per day with 50%rem sleep
By 1 yr they sleep 12-13 hrs

3-5 yr olds sleep 10-12 hours

Teenagers need 9 - 10 hours

Adults (from 20 yrs) require 8 hours,

Elderly need only 5-7 hours

Teenagers tend to become night owls with the sleep wake pattern, as their phase shifts to falling asleep later in the evening and waking up. Later in the morning.
