When a door fails in open position what do you do?
Use CCTV to observe any obstruction
Make PA announcement asking passengers to remove
If door remains open how do you manually close?
PA, TEC, Cab unattended
Close door … if won’t close …
Pull DER stage 1 and release
Wait 20 seconds
Pull DER stage 2
Grip each door and pull closed
Return DER to upright position and close cover
Turn Tri-key 90 deg. clockwise in mechanical door isolation port
Observe iso. lamp and door open buttons illuminated red
Push door open button to confirm door remains closed
Apply stickers
Check TMS door status to confirm door isolated
TMM
What happens to DERs when door is isolated?
Internal and external DERs will not function
If you are unable to manually close a door what happens?
Traction Interlock Bypass
Detrain passengers and shunt to nearest siding
If you have to turn Traction Interlock Bypass what happens?
Run on secondary circuit pushing Safety System Bypass Acknowledge button every 30 seconds
What does it mean if you get no/extinguished door close light?
An open cab door has been detected
What happens if you have to go to rear cab how do you ensure cab door has been closed?
Activate cab and check door closed effectively on TMS pictogram
When a DER is pulled how long do you have to press the DER Inhibit button
20 seconds
Once you have pushed DER inhibit button how long do you have until door releases?
120 seconds
What happens when an external DER is activated?
Traction unavailable
How long does an external DER have to be pressed to release door?
10 seconds
How long does the CAB EAD Override button work for?
5 minutes
What happens in a Beacon Read failure?
Train doesn’t know how long platform is so won’t open first and last doors - grey
During Beacon Read failure if first door has failed to open how do you deploy a wheelchair?
Use ASDC Override button if safe to do so
What is ASDC procedure?
PA - short delay before doors released
SDU - observe cameras to ensure leading and rear cars aligned with platform
Door - open cab door on platform side to confirm platform available, close cab door
Button - press ASDC Override button on correct side
- Select first car
- Select last car
- Accept selection
- Check Green door indications on HMI are correct
- Press door release for platform side
- Report fault to Metrol
