1) Apply 1-2 full pumps of product, or squirt a loonie-sized amount, onto one palm
2) Spread product over all surfaces of hands, concentrating on finger tips, back of hands, and base of thumbs
3) Rub hands until product dry
List the 8 steps in chronological order for washing your hands with soap and water
1) Turn on taps
2) Wet hands with water
3) Apply liquid soap
4) Vigorously lather hands
5) Thoroughly rinse soap form hands

2) Put on gloves. If gown is worn the gloves cuff goes over the gown

1) Remove gloves without contaminating hands using glove-to-glove or skin-to-skin technique
2) Grasp outside edge near wrist and peel away
3) Reach under second glove and peel away
4) Discard into regular garbage

Have to wear a mask, eye protection, gown, and gloves because the patient is known or suspected to have microorganisms transmitted by droplets from the respiratory tract can spread droplets via coughing, sneezing, or suctioning, that travel up to 6 feet/2 meters in the air and deposit within the eyes, nose, or mouth
What PPE is needed for an Airborne Precaution and why?
Need to wear fit-tested N-95 mask and proper ventilation of the air because patients are known or suspected to be infected with those microorganisms that are transmitted by the airborne route; and gown
