Q

Static TO

A

When cleared for TO

Hold ac on toe brakes and set 70%NL. Release brakes and apply MAX DRY.

At Vrot smoothly select 5°CDA, once positive rate confirmed, select gear up, confirming up by 290KDAS
Set 8°CDA, 350KDAS(AT)

Q

Rolling TO

A

Roll onto rwy ensuring lined up on centreline and nose wheel is straight before advancing the throttles. There is no requirement to set 70%NL, set max dry and continue as per static TO

Q

Performance TO (day VMC only)

A

Ensure ATC are aware of the intention to PTO, by requesting it with GND.

Line up, hold the ac on toe breaks and set 70%NL. When ready, release brakes and smoothly apply MAX RHT.

At Vrot, smoothly rotate to 60°NU. When airborne and positive RoC, select gear up. Confirm up by 290KDAS. Once established at 60°, check speed, if above 200, set 70°, if it reads 200 and reducing, gently lower nose to maintain above 180.

As you pass 5-10,000ft, overbank L/R as required for departure, transitioning to normal climb profile, cancel RHT when speed above 250KDAS

Q

Reheat TO

A

Release toe brakes, set MAX RHT (releasing brakes from 70%NL will slightly reduce TO distances)

At rotation speed rotate smoothly to 5° CDA and raise gear with a positive RoC. Cancel reheat at 250KDAS, then fly a standard departure at 350KDAS(AT)

Q

Min Fuel Climb

A

Point at destination airfield
With AT deselected, set MAX DRY and climb at 400KDAS/0.85M, converting to 0.9M at FL350. (in 2T fit, initial climb will be ~20°CDA)
Anticipate level off by reducing power to catch 6a
Consult FCCs for optimum Alt/Speed for DI and fuel remaining
Plan TOD using FLx2/10 e.g. FL300=60nm

Q

Min time climb

A

Perform a reheat TO, but hold >5°CDA whilst raising the gear, ensuring fully up before 290KDAS. Once gear is retracted, lower nose back to 5°CDA and accelerate to 450KDAS before setting 60° CDA, capture and maintain 500 KDAS in the climb, monitor FUEL.

Q

Instrument descent

A

Idle, AB in, 0.85M/300KDAS
Allowing approx 2nm per 1000ft

A more fuel-efficient descent (range descent) can be flown at 250KDAS/6alpha

Q

VRIAB

A

At the upwind end of the runway smoothly enter a 2-3g break turn whilst selecting idle power, rolling out downwind at circuit height

Parameters:350-400KDAS
1000ft at initial, then 800-1000ft for break
(1500ft may be enforced if bbmf circuit active)
