- A/S/E handle - EGRESS
- Canopy - Open/Jett
- QRB - Release
- ASP - Release
- Ladder - Deploy if required
APU Fire or Canopy Horn Modulated Audio Warning [APU FIRE]
- Egress
ABORT
- Throttles - Idle
- Brake chute - Deploy if required
- Brakes - Apply
- Hook - Down if required (1000ft before cable, ‘HOOK’ boxed)
TAKEOFF CONTINUED
- Throttles - MAX RHT if required
When airborne
2. Landing gear - Up
3. Stores - Jettison if required
TYRE FAILURE DURING TAKEOFF
If decision to stop is made:
1. Abort
If take-off is continued:
2. Landing gear - do not retract
3. Go to E-162 (Landing with blown tyre)
ENGINE PERFORMANCE

- Caution - if Idle thrust too high during abort - consider shutdown on affected engine
- ABORT
If take-off continued
3. Take-off continued (E-11)
ENGINE PERFORMANCE (ON LANDING)
[L ENG P] [R ENG P]
- CAUTION - Thrust at Idle may be significantly more than expected
If Idle thrust too high and bolt option not available:
2. Throttle affected ENG - Shut if req
3. Brake Chute - Deploy if req
4. Brakes - Apply
5. Hook - Down if req (1kft before cable, [HOOK] boxed)
6. LP COCK affected side - shut if req
If decision to bolt is made:
7. Throttles - MAX RHT
ENGINE FIRE
[L FIRE] [R FIRE]
On the ground:
1. EGRESS (E-10)
In flight:
2. Throttle affected engine - SHUT
3. LP COCK affected side - SHUT
4. Check for further signs of fire
If fire is confirmed:
5. EJECT
If fire is not confirmed:
6. Go to [R-1] (Single engine operation)
Engine Mechanical Failure
- Throttle affected engine - SHUT
- LP COCK affected side - SHUT
- Go to [R-1] (Single engine operation)
OIL PRESSURE
[L OIL P] [R OIL P]
- Throttle affected engine - IDLE
- Recover - Positive G / climb/dive less than 30°
If [OIL P] illuminated after 10 seconds
3. Throttle affected engine - SHUT
4. LP COCK affected side - SHUT
5. Go to [R-1] (Single engine operation)
ENGINE SURGE
- Throttle affected engine - IDLE
- AoA and Sideslip - Reduce
- Engine format - Check
ENGINE VIBRATION
[L VIBR] [R VIBR]
- Throttle affected engine - IDLE
ICING AND ENGINE VIBRATION
[L VIBR] or [R VIBR] AND [ICE]
- Throttle affected engine - Increase by at least 10% NL
ENGINE FLAMEOUT (non BF)
[L FLAME] or [R FLAME] possible [ECS]
- Throttle good engine - min 70%NL
DOUBLE ENGINE FLAMEOUT
[L FLAME] AND [R FLAME] (plus many more)
If steady HYD TOT illuminated
1. EJECT
Otherwise:
2. Speed - Above 450 KDAS
3. Stores - EMGY JETT if required
4. Controls - Minimise / gentle movements
5. Both Throttles - SHUT, then MAX DRY
6. Altitude - Reduce below 28kft
7. HUP NL - NL monitor
FUEL LEAK
- Throttles - Dry range
DOUBLE FUEL COMPUTER
[L FUEL C] AND [R FUEL C]
[L SPS C] AND [R SPS C]
- Throttles - Dry range
- AOB - Select
OXYGEN or SUSPECTED HYPOXIA
[OXY]
- AOB - Select and monitor
- Altitude - Below 10kft
MSOC OFF
[MSOC]
- AOB contents - Monitor
If AOB contents not displayed:
2. AOB - Select, go to E-64 (UCS Computer)
UNCONTROLLED ECS LEAK
[L ECS LK] or [R ECS LK]
[ECS] [MSOC] possible [LQD COOL]
- Throttle affected engine - SHUT
- LP COCK affected side - SHUT
UCS COMPUTER
possible [UCS CPTR] / [MSOC] / [OXY]
(E-64)
- AOB - Select
DOUBLE HYD FAIL
[HYD TOT]
If steady [HYD TOT] illuminated:
1. EJECT
CANOPY NOT LOCKED or LOST or JETTISONED
[CANOPY]
- Altitude - below 10kft, if prac
- Speed - Minimum practical (recommended speed 200KDAS)
SMOKE OR FUMES IN THE COCKPIT
(R-3)
- AOB - Select and monitor
- Altitude - Below 25kft, if practical (18k)
- ECS - Within limits, RAM AIR
