A

The process

A

Recognize ourselves as before God ( human element )

Restored to fellowship with (divine element)

The price

A

God could only Justify us-declare to be righteous by receiving the death of someone else
Jesus dies to satisfy the requirements of the law 1 Corinthians 5:2
Through the substitutionary death of his son
God’s love wants to forgive us, but his Holiness says that he must punish sin and uphold the law

-Implies a change of nature and a change or relationship
1 John 3:1 how great is the love the father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!

Assurance- how do we know we are saved?

A

“Assurance of salvation is the knowledge of forgiveness and acceptance which God himself gives to the saved soul. This divine witness is given by the Spirit of God and is confirmed by experience.” (HOD)
“Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart.” (I John 5:10)
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:16)
