We believe there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the creator, preserver, and governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship.
Agnostic
You cannot know if there is a god.
Animist
All objects have a natural life or souls; animals, plants, stones, men.
Pantheist
The universe is God and God is the universe.
Rationalist
There is no higher source of knowledge than reason.
The theist
God or gods exist.

God has made the world but abandoned it.

How is God’s love revealed?

Omnipotence
All power; there is no source of true power apart from God.

All knowing, I.e ‘seeing’ is knowing, ‘seeing’ is understanding.

Based on Doctrine 2, what are his roles?
Creator: all inclusive - includes things created from creation.
Preserver: preserves creation as a whole, preserves his people( God sustains his people THROUGH danger and trial, not FROM
Governor: what he makes and maintains, he manages.
Define:
Ex nihilo
From nothing.
Immanent
God’s presence and activity within nature, human and history.
Example- Acts 17: 27-28
Transcendent
God is separate from and independent of nature and humanity.
Example- Isaiah 55: 8-9, psalm 113: 5-6
