Action

A

Acts primarily as an agonist at beta, adrenergic receptors with minor beta2 and alpha1 effects. Consequently, dobutamine increases myocardial contractility and stroke volume with minor chronotropic effects, resulting in increased cardiac output

2 to 20 mcg/kg/min IV, IO. At doses >20 mcg/kg/min, increases of heart rate of >10% may induce or exacerbate myocardial ischemia
