Sulivan’s view on the march of progress
Sullivan concluded that a small portion of women are doing domestic work and a larger portion of men are beggining to do more domestic work, making role sunbalanced

1994 - 2012 the percentage of women who allways did luandry fell by 9% whilst for men it increaed by 6%

2012 - Men did an average of 8 hours of housework a week (women did 13). On average men spent 10 hours per week on caring for family, women spent 23
Who does what
Luandry, cleaning, cooking are mostly done by women
Caring for sick family is more even but still mostly women
Repairs is mostly men
What do surveys often not measure
Graham Allen (1985) argued the quality of work done isnt usually accounted, women do less satisfying work
