While sickness can be the result of sin (1 Cor 11:30,) it can also just be a condition of nature brought about generally by sin into the world
What instruction does James 5 give in relation to healing?
Call the elders to pray and anoint with oil, confess sin
What is the difference between “the gift of healing” and healing prayer as described in James 5?
Gift of healing seems to be a for specific individuals at specific times, while healing prayer doesn’t seem to be bound in that way
How would you counsel a believer who has followed the instructions of James 5 and is not healed?
God’s primary concern is not our physical health, but our spiritual. I have seen how God not healing my wife has caused me to grow in my faith, and to see the character that that has developed in my kids.
In the elders anointing and prayer ministry for the sick, what does “the prayer of faith” mean?
When we pray, we believe that God can work and that He desires the best for us.
What is the difference between miraculous healing and divine life for the believer?
Miraculous healing would be an instantaneous event that removes the sickness or injury, while divine life is the power of God at work within us to allow us to serve, even if we are physically weak or suffering (Romans 8)
