What is DCT
Absolutist theory, states that something is morally good because God wills it. It is a DEONTOLOGICAL theory because it argues there are absolute moral rules in place. Human’s must obey God’s will because it is God’s will.
Strengths of DCT
1) Absolute standard of right and wrong
2) Resolves questions of why people suffer in this life - rewarded in next
3) Places origins of morality in God - resolves origins
4) Dr Lane Craig - DCT assures us good will beat evil

Should we live be the principle of obligation or the principle of love – to what extent is religion about obedience to laws

If God is transcendent, it is not possible to know his will – how should we interpret the texts
