What does Euythphro think?
He can trust the gods because morality comes from them
What does Plato ask euthyphro?
Is something good because god says it is good or is it good independently of god?
What is the problem with Euthyphro’s belief?
This means that anything could be good, even murder
What is the problem with Plato’s argument?
If god doesn’t determine what is good, something else must, do god is not omnipotent

That because god is omnibenevolent (all loving and perfectly good) anything He commands will be good.
Why do we perceive some of god’s actions as bad?
We only have finite knowledge and don’t understand the whole picture, god has infinite knowledge, epistemic distance
