Legislation in the UK that consolidates and simplifies previous anti-discrimination laws into a single Act.

Rule 4, Rules of Conduct 2021
RICS provides future guidance on Rule 4 of Rules of Conduct in April 2024 – relating to diversity, equity and inclusion as this a priority for the RICS.
Encourage diversity, equity and inclusion for different sized firms:
Sole Practitioner:
- Office accessible for more accessible visitors
- Website and other communications accessible
Smaller firms:
- How to recruit from a wider range of talent
- Job descriptions should be inclusive
- Put in place work policies for parental leave, caring responsibilities, wellbeing
Larger firms:
- Remove bias from recruitment
- Collect and publish EDI data
- Provide staff training on EDI policies and inclusive practices
Define equity, diversity and inclusion?
Equity: everyone gets what they need, specific requirement to them.
Diversity: Presence of differences within a given setting, encompassing a wide range of characteristics such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, religion.
Inclusion: Ensures that all individuals, regardless of their differences, feel valued and included in the group or environment.

Joint Instruction – I have worked with a joint disposal of a property in Lission Grove. Has investment and development potential. Joint with land team. Set out objectives of which team is undertaking which tasks.
Successfully did this by communication with each team member regarding updating tasks, interest list, site visits.
How successful do you think this team was?
This team was successful in achieving my clients objectives and the process went smoothly.
What is a common issue you have come across when working in a team?
Communication – always an issue with big projects with lots of people working on it. For example, Medway it has over 50 people, planning, environments, lawyers, engineers. No project manager on board and caused issues and resulted in a break down of communication.
Why is diversity and inclusivity valuable to businesses / teams?
Diversity and inclusion is invaluable to businesses because it enables them to have a wide range of attributes from different perceptions. It also creates positive environments where people are happier and more productive.
What does inclusive communication include?
Inclusive communication enables as many people as possible to be included in that interaction.

Partnering and collaborative working is where people come together to work proactively and to benefit from a number of different ideas
