What is idyll?
An area that is tranquil and peaceful i.e. rural areas.
What are suburbs?
Out of city neighbourhoods, consist of families ad have connections to the city.
What is segregation?
Segregation is when groups of people live with those similar to them.
What is perception?
Perception is what a person thinks of an area, whether its lived experience or seeing others in that area.
What is studentification?
When post 16 people live in urban settlements.
What are commuter villages?
Rural villages that have connections to city.
What has deindustrialisation has led to?
Internal migration as people move into city areas as there is more work.
What are some pros and cons to migration?
Pros; more population
Cons; less housing
What can be used to study inequality?
Index of multiple deprivation data online IMD
inequality, social progress and child poverty.
What is cultural assimilation?
When cultural groups over time fit in with the new culture they are exposed to and start to show characteristics of that culture. Employment may also indicate successfulness of assimilation.
What is voter turnout?
Looks at assimilation of cultures, sees if all people from different cultures are allowed to vote and do vote.
Who are stakeholders?
Anyone involved in change.
What is a manager, user, provider and influencer stake holder?
- control changes
- use changes
- owner of the changed area
- have an opinion about change before or after.
