  1. Wait for movement to stop
  2. Locate reference point
  3. Release harness
  4. Vacate aircraft

DITCHING - Power OFF

A
  1. (G) HID & GAG-R ……………………..Stow (as reqd).
  2. CANOPY JETTISON (AIRBORNE) (E–2–2) ……….. …………………………………………………………. Perform.
  3. Sliding landing …………………………………. Perform:

(a) Flare For min speed and sideslip (<30KIAS).
(b) Landing attitude ………………………. Establish. (5-10°NU, tail wheel first contact)
(c) Rate of descent ………………………… Minimise.

After landing impact, if aircraft remains upright:

  1. Cyclic ……………………………………………….. Centred.
  2. Collective……………………………………………. Full up.
  3. Rotor brake …………………. At NR < 100, LOCKED.

In all cases, after main rotor has stopped and aircraft motion has stabilised:

  1. EMERGENCY EGRESS (E–2–3) …………. Perform.

  4. (G) EMERGENCY EGRESS ……. Perform.
  5. (P) Reposition HIGE clear of Gunner
  6. EEP ………………………………………. Both SHUTOFF.
  7. Landing attitude ………………………………. Maintain.
  8. Collective…………………………………………. Increase.

After landing impact, if aircraft remains upright:

  1. Cyclic ……………………………………………….. Centred.
  2. Collective……………………………………………. Full up.
  3. Rotor brake …………………. At NR < 100, LOCKED.

In all cases, after main rotor has stopped and aircraft motion has stabilised:

  1. EMERGENCY EGRESS (E–2–3) …………. Perform.

    • IAS below 75KIAS
    • RoD as req IAW chart
    • Area below clear
  2. HMSD Visors down
  3. Emergency exit handles - Pull
    • If skid ball centred, pull both sides
    • If skid ball off centre, pull opposite side
