Distributions Flashcards
1
Q
What are the different types of distribution?
A
Negatively skewed (to the left)
Normal distribution
Positively skewed (to the right)
2
Q
Negatively skewed (to the left)
A
- Mean is to the left (towards the “tail”)
- Median in middle
- Mode to the right (at the highest point
- E.g. Mean =6, Median = 9, Mode = 11
3
Q
Normal distribution
A
- Mode, Mean and Median are all in the middle
- Symmetrical
- Majority of results are around the mean with those at the ends being more rare
4
Q
Positively skewed
A
- Mean is to the right (towards the “tail”)
- Median in middle
- Mode to the left (at the highest point
- Eg Mode =6, Median = 9, Mean = 11
