Dispatch, Flight Planning, Crew Policies Flashcards
What does the PMRTW on the release consist of?
Planned Max Runway Takeoff Weight
- Accelerate stop
- Accelerate go
- Single-engine climb obstacle clearance
What does the PMRLW on the release consist of?
Planned Max Runway Landing Weight
• Effective field length at destination and approach climb (single-engine missed approach)
What does the METW (PMEW) on the release consist of?
Max Enroute Takeoff Weight
(Planned Max Enroute Weight)
• Drift down using Method 1 or 2
What does the MFPTW on the release consist of?
Max Flight Plan Takeoff Weight
• Max takeoff weight for which flight plan is valid.
What is Method 1 drift down?
- Begins at V1
- Includes minimum of 1,000’ obstacle clearance within 5 NM along route
- Positive climb gradient 1,500’ above diversion airport
What is Method 2 drift down?
- Begins at cruise
- Includes minimum of 2,000’ obstacle clearance within 5 NM along route
- Positive climb gradient 1,500’ above diversion airport
What is the minimum takeoff RVR?
600/600/600
*For ops below RVR 1600, a minimum of 2 operative RVR systems are required. All RVR reports are controlling, except a far end RVR report, which is advisory only.
What does reserve fuel consist of?
1800 lbs (45 minutes calculated at long range cruise)
What is Divert Fuel?
Divert fuel is the fuel required to fly from the destination to the furthest alternate and maintain 45 minute reserve fuel.
What is final divert fuel?
Final divert fuel is the fuel required to fly from the destination to the furthest alternate and maintain 30 minute reserve fuel.
What are the three types of non-scheduled operations authorized at CommutAir?
- Maintenance ferry flights
- Charter flights
- Positioning flights
Who may be carried aboard a Part 91 reposition flight?
Company employees and their family members.
If the SIC has less than 100 hours in type and isn’t flying with a check pilot, when must the PIC make the takeoffs and landings?
- Special airports
- Special considerations
- Windshear reported in vicinity
- Wind - crosswind component > 15 kts
- Runway contaminated with snow/water/slush
- Runway braking action < good (5)
- Visibility at or below 3/4 SM
- Visibility at or below RVR 4000
What are the four categories of MELs and how long are they valid for?
A: time interval specified
B: 3 consecutive cal. days (72 hrs)
C: 10 consec. cal. days (240 hrs)
D: 120 consec. cal. days
*Time begins at midnight of first day.
What is a CDL?
Configuration deviation list: a manufacturer’s listing of secondary airframe and engine parts that may be missing.
Where no time limit is given for operation with missing parts, it is expected they will be replaced at the operator’s earliest convenience. Most have no time limit.
