Disorders of Hemostasis Flashcards
1
Q
-Autoimmune disorder in which antibodies bind platelets , inactivating
-Primarily idiopathic
Dx: Thrombocytopenia–>Diagnosis of exclusion
A
Immune/Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura
2
Q
- Thrombocytopenia due to incorporation of platelets into thrombi in microvasculature
- Idiopathic
A
Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (TTP)
3
Q
- Triad of concurrent microangiopathic hemolytic anemia (hemolysis due to small vessel thrombi), thrombocytopenia and acute kidney injury
- Mostly seen in children
- Most often preceded my hemorrhagic enteritis
A
Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome
4
Q
- Small vessel vasculitis–>thought due to immune complex deposition
- More common in children
- Often assoc. with inflammatory arthritis
A
Henoch-Schönlein Purpura
5
Q
-Antibody formation to platelet-heparin factor
A
Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT)
