Dissociative identity disorder
when there are two or more distnct and alternating personalities that exhibit rotating control over ones body

Delusion thinking, disturbed perceptions and inappropriate emotions and actions.

- hears voices
- the unreal seems real to them
Antisocial personality disorder
demonstrates a lack of conscience for wrongdoing.
- often aggressive and ruthless
- feel little or no fear, remorse or regrets
psychodynamic
looks at early childhood to see why that person is they way they are now

Systematic desensitization
therapy that links a pleasant relaxed state with an anxiety triggering stimuli
ex: fear of flying - start off of thinking about flying, then read about it, then go on small rides, etc… slowly working way up to getting on a plane and actually flying
Aversive conditioning
puts an unpleasant start (nausea) with an unwanted behavior (drinking alcohol)

when someone gets a prize for doing a desired behavior

therapy that teaches people new and better ways of thinking and acting..
based on the assumption that thought intervene between events and emotions
