- Professional misconduct
- Improper act which brings disrepute to the profession
- Conviction of offence under PRA / drug-related legislation
- Conviction of fraud / dishonesty implying a defect in character
- Physical / mental fitness to practise

- Lay persons: 6-40; 2 year term; nominated by minister
- Council members: at least 5; 3 year term
- Senior pharmacists: 10-40; 2 year term
- Chairperson elected from council members
