• anything that the pt does NOT come into contact with

Dirty Tech touches:

• patient
• patients IV pole
• patients pillow and blankets
• anything that DOES come in contact with the patient

Dirty AND Clean tech touches:

• pillow case or plastic covers
• markers
• CR cassette or detector
• this is done with sequencing so there is no cross contamination between he dirty and clean tech

• Strict isolation: clean tech touches equipment, dirty tech touches pt (this protects the healthcare worker from the pt)
• Reverse isolation: clean tech touches pt, dirty tech touches the equipment (this protects the pt from the healthcare worker)
