Medial
Closer to the body (physical connection), the head is medial compared to the wrist.
Superior
Above, the skull is superior to the collarbone
Deep
To have a cut in the heart is deep, where a cut on the skin is not depp.
Proximal
Point of connection, the shoulder is more proximal to the body than the wrist.
Distal
The wrist is more distal than the shoulder since it is farther from the body.
Posterior
Back of the body, the tailbone is seen from the posterior.
Superficial
Farther outside of the body, the ribs are superficial to the heart.
Anterior
The front of the body, the eyes are a good example of anterior.
Inferior
Lower, the collarbone is inferior to the skull because it is lower.
Ventral
Underside of an animal, like the belly, or the weak point of an animal, plant, etc.
Dorsal
The upper side, or the top spine/ supported part of an animal, organ, human, plant, etc.
