What does selection do?

Copying and making several copies of the same image to position where desired.
How does layering help?

A pattern that can be repeated over and over.

For backgrounds.

What is a TIFF format and its use?
A bitmapped image format.
Used for scanned images.
What is an EPS format and what does it contain?
A format for importing/exporting postscript files.
They can contain text, graphics, images and a preview image.
What does zoom do?
Allows a used to magnify or reduce the size of an image on the screen.
