What is verification?
Checking that the source data is identical to the data entered.

What is a parity check?
Checking the received data is the same as the sent data.
What is double keying?
Entering data twice to ensure it is the same.
What is a visual check?
Comparing the original piece of paper to the data entered.
What is a batch total?
It’s the total of meaningful data added up. It makes sense.
What is a hash total?
The same as a batch total but with meaningless data that makes no sense.
What is validation?
Checking that the data entered is sensible and reasonable.
