Stay on top of things: platforms, application and tools change rapidly so it is important to stay on top of new trends and new online platforms, applications and tools.

Online ethics and legal awareness: Online environments have boundaries. You need to make what you’re doing is legal because online spaces are also policed and monitored by various organisations.

Brand management: People need to see and manage themselves as a brand with a identity and image. Disseminate all the aspects of their personal characteristics and attributes when they engage on social media. Any interaction they have an impact on their brain image, the perception others have of them.

Contemplate whatever you write: reflect and consider what you have written before you post.

Community leaders should lead from the front: Important for politicians, celebrities, organisations and business leaders to present themselves and their personal brands in a positive manner.

Cyberspace in a new social space: Important to remember that once something is out into the cyberspaces, they cannot be deleted. Many social interactions happen in an online community.

Use strong passwords
