Digital Cameras Flashcards
Point-and-shot vs DSLR cameras
Hey point and shoot camera does not allow you to change lenses, is compact and it is designed for quick use without fasting too much about technical settings.
DSLR are camera is designed more for for first professional use – it’s less you change names this analyse more control of the technical settings. It also has largest senses Which can capture light more efficiently can shoot in lowlight conditions and more accurately than a normal point-and-shoot consumer type of camera
Sensor size
A camera with a large sensor will produce better quality images that one with a small the sensor – even if they have the same number of megapixels this is why at 15 megapixel DSL are camera create better images then 15 megapixel point and shoot camera
3X optical zoom
5X digital zoom
Zoom uses lenses on the camera to get closer to the object being photographed (e.g. three times the size of the normal image).
Digital zoom is like using the magnifying glass to in image editing software. As you get closer and the picture gets larger it also gets more blurry and eventually pixelated you want to good quality images you should not use digital zoom
Resolution
Is that the total number of pixels that make up the picture. A typical specification is around 10–15 MP (megapixels).
Remember that this is only one of several factors influencing the image quality.
ISO rating
This is how sensitive the camera sensor is too light (i.e. how good the camera is at taking pictures in lowlight without a flash). Keep in mind that a camera with a high ISO rating can only do a good job if it also has a big sensor – high ISO settings on a smaller or poor quality sensor produces granny spotty pixelated images
