What are Gallstones?
Gallstones occur when bile is precipitated in the gallbladder if the bile has too much salt or cholesterol, causing severe pain in the upper abdominal, nausea and vomiting. Can be treated by avoiding salts and surgery
What are Peptic Ulcers?
Located in the Stomach, Ulcers are when Helicobacter Pylori enters the stomach through releasing an acid-neutralizing enzyme, burrowing under the stomach lining to erode the mucus, causing a pore in the stomach.
What is Celiac Disease?
An immune reaction to eating glucose. Symptoms include bloating and diarrhea, caused by eating gluten, which can be cured by having a gluten free diet.
What is Cirrhosis?
Cirrhosis is severe scarring in the liver, making you feel tired and weak, and lose excessive fat and weight.
What is Crohns Disease?
Inflammation of the tissues in the bowel, occuring when our immune system mistakenly attacks our healthy tissues, causing malnutrion and fatiuge
What is Diabetes (type 1, 2 and Gestational)
Type 1: When you don’t produce enough insulin. Type 2: When you cannot use enough insulin. Gestational: Occurs in pregnant women. Symptoms include weight loss without trying, dehydration and having to urinate a lot.
What is Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Located in the stomach and body, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is caused by the acid going up the Gastrointestinal Sphincter and reaching our esophagus, causing a burning sensation.
What is Hepatitis?
Liver inflammation causing symptoms such as pain in stomach area and dark urine and pale stool.
What is Ulcerative Colitis?
When Ulcers develop in the digestive tract causing pain in the abdomen and swooshing sounds in the intestine.
