What do the salivatory glands do
A
Produce Saliva containing amylase which breaks down carbohydrates

What does the epiglottis do
A
Seals the windpipe whilst you are eating to stop any food going the wrong way

A
Produces hydrochloric acid for use indigestion

A
90% of digestion and absorption occurs here

Absorbs water from the remaining food matter

A
It is a temporary storehouse for faeces

A
This is where the waste is expelled

A
It filters blood and detoxifies chemicals, aswell as producing bile for use

A
Stores and compresses bile
