diffusions Flashcards
What is diffusion
diffusion is when the particles move from a high concentration to a low concentration
When do particles reach a dynamic equilibrium
They reach a dynamic equilibrium when they reach the low concentration and they are equally spaced out
How do particles reach a dynamic equilibrium
they go down a concentration gradient
Why is diffusion important to living organisms
diffusion is important to living organisms because it is a non energy dependent way to get oxygen, water , glucose, carbon dioxide and urea in and out of the cells
How does diffusion work
Particles can enter and leave cells because small particles diffuse out the cell through the membranes (concentration gradient)
What does active transport do ?
Active transport pumps against the concentration gradient
