Q

What is an example of diffusion?

A

If you open a perfume bottle at arm’s length, you can’t still smell it.

The perfume particles mingle with air particles and move through the air until they reach your nose.

Q

Why do gasses diffuse?

A

Gas particles move from an area where there’s a high level of particles to an area where there’s a low area of particles.

Q

What is an example of diffusing liquids?

A

If you pour some water into a glass followed by some diluting juice, the colour of the diluting juice spread through the whole liquid.

The diluting juice particles, which cause the colour, mingle with the water particles until they change colour.
