Coping with day to day living.
Preparing meals. Getting dressed. Personal hygiene. Cleaning the house. Looking after children. Working to schedules. These could all be made even more difficult.
Coping financially.
People living with mental health problems may struggle planning, budgeting, and coping with financial problems may make things difficult.
Employment.
People who suffer with mental health problems may find it hard to intergrate into work life. They may also struggle to manage or meet deadlines.
Self image.
People with mental health problems may have a negative outlook when it comes to themselves.
Intense feelings of self hate/anger/disgust/uselessness/worthless.
These can lead to severe mental health problems (e.g severe depression, psychosocial disorders or even eating disorders).
Education.
People who suffer from mental health problems may become isolated and develop some anxiety disorders and concentration problems, which affects educational opportunities.
Relationships
Can affect even most basic of communication between the person suffering with mental health problems and their family, friends and colleagues.
This may lead to problems to commit, or to trust.
Sleep.
Not being resilient to the stresses and anxieties may lead to insomnia.
Broken sleep due to waking with thoughts of event causing the anxieties.
This can lead to a feeling of exhaustion and therefore being less productive.
Eating.
People with mental health problems may develop an eating disorder. They can either comfort eat which can lead to obesity, or they can have a distorted body image where they think they’re “too big” and becoming anorexic and/or bulimic leading to malnourishment.
Physical health.
A persons Mental state can have an impact on their physical health.
E.g. stress can lead to stomach ulcers or high blood pressure. People who are mentally healthy are at lower chance of developing health complications.
