Q

Weaknesses

A

Theory not complete
- fails to explain why some people commit impulsive or one off crimes
- eg commit a crime spontaneously without forethought with no favourable association to criminality

Srengths

A

Research
- tested 1153 newly convicted criminals to see whether the differential association theory could explain criminal behaviour, found most cases it was a good predictable in MEN

Explain high crime rates
- high crime rates in certian area more than others
- so,some grows up in an area with high crime rate exposed to more pro criminal than pro social attitudes
- more likely to imitate behaviour
