How does religion in politics affect its view negatively in society and how does it depict it as archaic and outdated?
They are parties like the national council of Churches Australia that permeate public debate, therefore putting their contradicting views towards euthanasia, leading to the view that religion is outdated and no longer in-tune.
How have changing societal views affected religion negatively?
changing societal values have resulted in condemnation of Jewish ritual slaughter and other religious practices as it contradicts animals rights and vegetarianism.
Why is religion seen as societally harmful human creation? (3)
lack of faith or lack of suitable evidence towards the stories of Jesus and God.
Seen as harmful as it preaches own superiority and truthfulness due to their divine leader, which is thought to be a creation thus beliefs are unfounded
past historical atrocities of people who acted due to their religious belief such as massacre of innocents during the multitude of Christian crusades or Islamic Jihads (sexual assault from a few Catholic priests)

provides charities to the poorer and sick communities, so that they are not disadvantaged, seen as compassionate and constructive

- spreading of Christian message through practical means, such as helping the needy or elderly

- also the horrors of the World Wars people saw religion as powerless to protect society but threat to peace and stability
