What is a softwood?

A

Softwood is a type of wood that is cut from trees belonging to coniferous trees. Softwood trees, such as pine, cedar, spruce, larch and fir, retain their leaves throughout the year and grow faster than hardwood. They can grow up to 20-25 years.

A

Manufactured boards are often covered with a thin layer of real wood which is called vaneer this improves their appearence (aestheically pleasing) or properties
